FAQ

  • What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a primary healthcare profession focused on diagnosis and hands-on adjusting to enhance the body's musculoskeletal function, primarily the spine, to alleviate pain, improve motion, and promote overall health. Proper alignment of the body's musculoskeletal structure allows the body to heal itself without surgery or medication. Chiropractic care often involves adjustments to correct dysfunction in the spine or other joints, along with exercises, lifestyle modifications, and nutritional guidance.
  • What is a Chiropractic adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment, is a non-invasive procedure performed by chiropractors to alleviate pain and improve physical function. During a chiropractic adjustment, the chiropractor uses their hands or a small instrument to apply controlled, sudden force to a specific joint of the spine or other parts of the body. This helps to correct alignment issues, reduce inflammation, and restore mobility to the targeted area. The adjustment aims to address musculoskeletal and nervous system issues, promoting the body's natural ability to heal itself. At Uplift, we personalise each adjustment to meet the unique needs of our practice members, helping them achieve optimal health and wellness.
  • Does it hurt?
At Uplift, we prioritise client comfort and safety during chiropractic adjustments. While some clients may experience minor discomfort or soreness during or after an adjustment, this is often a necessary inflammatory response essential for the healing process. We focus on gentle, precise techniques to effectively address dysfunction and promote healing without causing unnecessary pain. If you have specific concerns about pain or discomfort during an adjustment, please discuss them with your chiropractor so he help put your mind at ease.
  • How much does it cost?
Our Initial consultation is £82. This includes a deep dive into your medical history and current health, an examination consisting of posture analysis, full spine check and nervous system assessment. If we are confident you are a right fit for our care, we will propose a plan to help you reach your goals. We offer personalised chiropractic care tailored to each individual's unique needs. Understanding certain elements of your health will enable us to tailor a care plan specifically to your needs. Factors such as the duration of your condition, your age, and the extent of degeneration are among those we consider. The cost of a chiropractic care plan can vary depending on the specific needs of the person. We understand that cost is an important consideration for our clients, and we strive to make our services as accessible as possible. After we have gathered the relevant information from you in the medical history and exam, we will be better able to discuss the cost of investment of your unique care plan.
  • How long will it take for me to get better?
Recovery time varies depending on the individual. Factors such as the severity of the issue, the length of time they have had the problem, the persons overall health, and their commitment to following the recommended care plan all play a role in determining the duration of recovery. We will assess your condition, create a personalised care plan, and provide an estimated timeline for improvement based on your unique circumstances. We prioritise holistic and person-centered care, aiming not only to alleviate symptoms but also to address the root cause of the problem for long-term improvement in function. We are committed to supporting you throughout your healing journey and will regularly review your progress.
  • Will I need an X-ray?
Whether or not you will need an X-ray will depend on your individual condition and symptoms. Our Chiropractor will conduct a thorough assessment and examination to determine the best course of action for your specific needs. If we believe an X-ray is necessary, we will be able to refer you to a local private facility to organise this and discuss your findings on return of the results.
  • Can I use insurance to help pay for my care?
It depends. At Uplift, we work with some of the major insurance providers; AXA, Aviva and WPA, to help cover the cost of your care. Below are some tips to help you find out if you can pay using insurance: 1. Check Your Insurance Policy: Coverage Confirmation: First, verify whether your health insurance policy covers Chiropractic care. Not all policies include this, so it’s essential to read your policy details or contact your insurance provider. Pre-authorisation Requirements: Determine if your insurance requires pre-authorisation or a referral from a GP (General Practitioner). 2. Get a Referral (if needed): Visit Your GP: Some insurance plans may require a referral from your GP to see a Chiropractor. Your GP can provide a referral on your instruction. 3. Pre-authorisation (if required): Submit Documentation: If your insurance requires pre-authorisation, you might need to submit medical records or a care plan from your Chiropractor to your insurer. Approval Process: Wait for approval from your insurance provider. This step ensures that the treatment will be covered under your plan. 5. Undergoing Chiropractic Care: Initial Consultation: Attend an initial consultation, where we will assess your condition and develop a care plan. Follow-up visits: Continue with follow-up visits as recommended by us. 6. Payment Process: Direct Billing: Sometimes, Chiropractors can bill your insurance company directly. Claim Submission: If direct billing is not available, you will need to pay for the care plan upfront and submit a claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We can provide you with detailed invoices and receipts. 7. Reimbursement: Submit Claims: Submit the necessary documents, including receipts and the chiropractor’s notes, to your insurance company for reimbursement. Follow Up: Follow up with your insurer to ensure the claim is processed. It can take several weeks for reimbursement, depending on the insurer. If you have any specific questions about your insurance coverage or our accepted providers, please don't hesitate to contact our office, and we will be happy to assist you.
